What’s your thoughts on BLM movement now? What’s important to know?

Black lives have always mattered to black people and allies. It’s great when the world sees injustice and rallies behind change. It’s important to remember that BLM is not the first organization for activists and it won’t be the last so learn the history and press on for a better tomorrow.

Why is Black History month important for you?

Well first, Black history is EVERY MONTH. I am black history. A walking archive but Black History month is partially important because we’ve designated one month, to slow down and reflect on the accomplishments and struggles of my people in America. ❤️🖤💚

2. Favourite song to skate to?
No particular song but any song by the Migos or Future always gets me pumped.

3. What empowers you?
Reminding myself that I am standing on the shoulders of my ancestors while being the ladder for the next generation to reach higher lengths. I have to do my part in the world so that the future generation can accomplish the unimaginable.

4. Biggest struggle for women and or gender fluid?
Just basic human respect.

5. How has skating impacted your life?
It’s brought me peace where there was none, new friendships, confidence and a depleted savings account 🥲

6. What do you want people to be aware of?
Be aware of how bad ass you truly are. How strong your body is. Give yourself more credit than you have in the past.

7. What have you learned during the pandemic?
Nothing that I’d like to go on record saying 🙃
