Any song by Durand Jones, the Cannons, or Aaron Frazer when I’m jam skating.
3. What inspires you?
Anyone on wheels rollin’ to their own beat inspires me and makes me feel empowered to do the same.
4. Biggest struggle for women and gender fluid?One of the biggest struggles for women is that they have to prove themselves to be taken seriously. Even when rollerskating it’s hard to feel welcome at a skatepark, I always feel that others don’t respect us until we reach a certain skill level or can prove that we are talented roller skaters. Which should not be the case.
5. How has skating empowered you?
Skating has impacted my life tremendously. In the beginning of the pandemic it simply gave me something to do everyday lol. But now, over the past two years skating has opened my eyes to a whole new community, one that after playing sports my entire life I was really missing and longing for. I have met so many incredible skaters this past year and am so thankful for this sport!
6. What do you want people to be aware of?
I want people to be more aware of…roller skating! Haha but it’s seriously such a fun sport and I hope our community continues to grow and support each other 🙂
